SouthernEra Diamonds, Inc. engages in the exploration, mining, development, and production of diamonds. It owns interests in the Camafuca Diamond Project in Lunda Norte province of northwestern Angola. The company also holds interests in various exploration projects located in Northwest Territories, Canada, which include Yamba Lake located in the Slave Craton region; and Back Lake located in the Southern Kimberlite Field. In addition, it has interests in the Superior Craton exploration program that comprises Trillion and Centenary projects. Further, the company has diamond exploration permits in the Kasai provinces, the Democratic Republic of Congo; Kango and Sud, and M’Bigou projects, as well as a joint venture Makongonio that is a mini processing plant in Gabon; and the Hope Project in Limpopo province, South Africa. SouthernEra Diamonds, Inc. was incorporated in 1987. It was formerly known as SouthernEra Resources Limited and changed its name to SouthernEra Diamonds, Inc. in 2004. The company is headquartered in Toronto, Canada. As of September 19, 2007, SouthernEra Diamonds Inc. operates as a subsidiary of Mwana Africa PLC.
