In October 2005, Sierra Leone signed an agreement with Nigerian’s oil and natural gas company,
Frazimex Ltd, allowing the company to explore for oil in Block 3 for seven years. Several test wells drilled in the 1970's on Sierra Leone's continental shelf produced "shows" of oil.
